Three clubs from Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania have so far confirmed their participation in this year’s Genocide memorial handball tournament set for June 7 to 8.
Three clubs from Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania have so far confirmed their participation in this year’s Genocide memorial handball tournament set for June 7 to 8.
The clubs include; Uganda Police, Muzinga from Burundi and Ngome handball club from Tanzania.
According to the Rwanda Handball Federation’s technical director, Jean Baptiste Ngarambe, they are expecting two more clubs from Kenya and DR Congo to confirm their participation.
The preliminary matches will be played at Amohoro national stadium, University of Rwanda College of Education on Saturday and the finals will be played at Kimisagara Youth Sports Center on Sunday.
On top of the foreign clubs, Ngarambe said all local clubs are expected to participate in both the men and women categories.
The nine local men’s clubs include; ES Kigoma, Gicumbi, UR-CoE, Nyakabanda, Police, UR-Huye Campus, ES St. Alloys, Groupe Scolaire Rambura and the tournament’s defending champions APR, while the women clubs are; ES Mukingi, UR-CoE, Groupe Scolaire Mwendo and Gorillas.
