Right Guards skipper Eric Dusingizimana made history on Sunday by becoming the first Rwandan to score 100 runs in a T20 cricket game against Indorwa CC.

The right-hand batter broke the record set recently by his team mate Derrick Bayingana, who scored 81 runs against Kerala Hunters.

The classy batsman, who is also the captain of the national team, hit four Sixes and 14 Fours on his way to his career best T20 score of 101 off just 60 balls.

"I felt like attacking every ball and thankfully, it worked for me.

This is my best performance ever,” said Dusingizimana after the game.

Batting first, Indorwa scored 170 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Eric Hirwa was unbeaten at 64 runs and was Indorwa’s top scorer.

Clinton Rubagumya, who has just come back from the U17 spinners and batters training camp in Nairobi, was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 22 runs.

Right Guard’s batting was outstanding as their openers, Dusingizimana (101) runs and Joshua Mwanja (56 runs) chased down the score with 4.3 overs to spare.

As a result, the partnership set a new record of chasing 171 runs without loss. In the day’s other game, Telugu CC beat Kerala Hunters CC by 3 wickets.
