ESPOIR RETAINED top spot in the national basketball league table after beating new entrants IPRC-Kicukoro 90-52 at Amahoro indoor stadium.

Still unbeaten in two and half seasons, Jean Bahufite’s reigning champions dethroned archrivals APR thanks to Lionel Hakizimana, who scored a game high 24 points.

"After winning against IPRC we can now have some relief,” Bahufite said yesterday ahead of his team’s second game of the weekend against 30-Plus, who notched their first win of the season following a 60-57 victory over University of Rwanda College of Education on Saturday.

However, by press time, the result of the Espoir vs 30-Plus game was not known. Espoir lead with 28 points from 14 matches, while APR is second with 27 from 16 matches. CSK have 26 points from 14 matches, while IPRC is fourth with 25 points from 16 matches.
