Burundian-born coach, Godfroid Okoko has signed a three-year contract extension with the Turbo King National Football League side Amagaju FC.
The contract extension with former Mukura and La Jeunesse FC technician will see Okoko stay with the Nyamagabe district-based side until 2017.
Southern Province-based Amagaju football club, who finished 11th with 23 points in the just concluded national league season, are set to face-off with second division league side SEC Academy in the quarter-finals of this season’s Peace Cup on June 6 at Muhanga stadium.
Speaking to Saturday Sport in a telephone interview, Okoko said, "It is true I signed a contract extension with Amagaju that will run until 2017. During those three years, I want to take Amagaju to another level, not just fighting to avoid relegation.”
According to club spokesman Jean Claude Kabanda, Okoko also has a big task of developing home-grown talent.
Amagaju will start preparations for the next season after the ongoing Peace Cup with new signings and renewal of contracts for players with expired ones.
