RETURN LEG

SaturdayRwanda vs Libya

MBUYU TWITE, Edwin Ouon and Elias ‘Baby’ Uzamukunda will not make the squad for the return leg of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup first round qualifier against Libya on Saturday.

According to the Amavubi team manager, the AEL Limassol defending midfielder Ouon and Young Africans’ defender Twite aka Eric Gasana, snubbed the call up for national duty from the newly appointed head coach Stephen Constantine without giving valid reasons.

"We called them to join others but Mbuyu said he can only come on Friday (a day before the match), which is not possible, while Ouon said the call came too late but promised to be available for the next games,” team manager Alfred Ngarambe told Times Sport yesterday.

According to the Ngarambe, AS Cannes striker Uzamukunda will also miss the clash as he is looking for a new club to join.

The former AS Kigali and APR striker played in the first leg, which ended goalless in Tunisia. Uzamukunda’s place on the team has been taken by APR forward Jean Claude Iranzi.

However, the team has been boosted by other professional players including Royal Antwerp center back Salomon Nirisarike, Vital Club striker Daddy Birori and Young Africans midfielder Haruna Niyonzima.

The team is training intensively ahead of their second leg clash at Kigali Regional Stadium, the venue for Saturday’s decisive game.

The last time Mbuyu played for Amavubi was under Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic almost two years ago, while Ouon was part of the team that lost 1-0 against Mali in the 2014 Word Cup qualifier on March 24, 2013.
