Editor,

The UN is abashing itself by being biased. When the intervention force came in North Kivu, they fought overwhelmingly to eliminate M23 who were Congolese fighting for some cause while FDLR "is a genocidal and foreign terrorist group”.

It is very unfortunate that such an international body, actually the father of all bodies, fails to eliminate these genocidal forces when it would be the time for them to change their image before Rwandans.

In 1994, the Genocide against the Tutsi happened in the face of the world and UNAMIR was ordered by New York (UN headquarters) to walk out and left Tutsis in the canines of these wolves. It was as if the UN had simply come to help prepare it and walk out after their assignment.

For me, it is not new and strange for the UN force to unwillingly fail to eliminate FDLR in DR Congo because they are colleagues. But this has truly exposed to the world the hatred or love this international body has for Rwanda.

The Rwanda Defence Forces (in peace keeping missions around the world) are instead teaching their command "UN” that the talk should be the walk. RDF even exceeds what is required but in the spirit of exhibiting what a real international force should be.

Since it is the RDF (then Rwanda Patriotic Army) that defeated the genocidal forces in 1994 while the UN had become onlookers, then they (RDF) should be given the mandate to do the job in DR Congo themselves.

Otherwise, the whole world should come out on this and condemn the UN’s behaviour of being biased and irresponsible.
