The first leg played in Kigali two weeks ago ended goalless but Gabon dominated the second leg encounter and got the only goal of the game through their skipper Ibrahim Mba.

Rwanda ended the match with ten players following the dismissal of striker Maxime Sekamana after fouling a Gabon player. Sekamana had come on as a substitute in second half.
