May 31Rwanda vs Libya

The newly appointed Amavubi Stars head coach Stephen Constantine is targeting to beat Libya in his first game as manager of the national team, when the two teams clash in their second leg of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations first round qualifiers.

Rwanda will be going for a win against Janvier Clemente’s Mediterranean Knights on May 31 at Kigali Regional Stadium. The winner of the two-legged encounter will face either Namibia or the DR Congo in the next round.

"We will do everything possible to win the game and that’s my first task. I want the team to be as competitive as possible,” the Englishman said.

"I expect a tough game keeping in mind that Libya plays better in away matches. They have been doing well in Africa, but we’ll be going out for a win.”

He added, "With good home support, I expect a good performance from the players. We have a good team with good players, who will understand my philosophy and based on what we saw from the first match, we expect a tough game and we will be read for the match.”

The team will be boasted by professional players including AEL Limassol defending midfielder cum central defender Edwin Ouon, Antwerp central back Salomon Nirisarike and Vital Club striker Daddy Birori.

Young Africans defender Mbuyu Twite is also in line for a return to the national team.

The first leg played last weekend in the Tunisian capital Tunis ended in a goalless draws, which leaves the tie in a delicate situation for both teams.

Constantine, who watched the game in Tunis, said the Amavubi players were made to work harder than they would have done, due to inadequate preparations.
