Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) has received an invitation from International Cricket Council-Africa to send four boys to the U17 batters and spinners elite Academy that will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from May 24–27.

The academy is among the annual development events run by Africa Cricket Association (ACA) to impart and improve cricket skills in youngsters.

Rwanda will be represented by Theogene Gatera, Cyubahiro Janvier, Clinton Rubagumya and Eric Niyomugabo.

"This is a very good opportunity for our boys to get more skills to help them in the upcoming U19 tournament scheduled for September,” said Rwanda Cricket Association General Manager, Joshua Mwanja. Other players to attend the academy will come from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. The Rwandan players departed yesterday aboard RwandAir.
