Over 50 Rwandan and German youth were last week hosted to a three-day Summit that centred around the theme; "The future of Rwanda: A young one?!”

According to a statement from the embassy, the Summit was held at the sport school in Koblenz-Oberwerth.

Rwanda’s ambassador to Germany Christine Nkulikiyinka, welcomed the Summit, saying it was even more thoughtful for the youth to hold the event during the YouthConnect Month that is underway in Rwanda.

The YouthConnect Month is normally organised to create a platform for the youth to hold nationwide dialogues during which they discuss their role as future leaders.

In the meeting in Germany, the participants exchanged their perceptions of Rwanda and Germany, learned about the history of Rwanda and spoke about how better they can serve their countries.

The highlight of the event was a theatre performance sponsored by the Human Help Network which reflected the content of the meeting through comedy.

At the end of the German-Rwandan Youth Summit, the participants articulated concrete project ideas and expressed their wish to continue holding similar meetings.
