Hope Academy has emerged second best at the twelfth edition of the InfoMatrix competition that was convened at Lumina University in Romania recently. The learners, who received silver medals, were the only participants from Rwanda.

InfoMatrix is an international competition which aims to bring together likeminded students who have a drive and passion in Information Technology.

"The competition saw over 280 schools from 43 countries represented, with 3,719 participants and 1,515 projects on display,” Isa Gokturk Yilmaz, the headmaster of Hope Academy said.

He said the exercise entailed five categories which included hardware control, short movies, robotics, computer art and programming. Gokturk said the two delegates from Hope Academy were awarded for their short film regarding ‘prejudice’.

According to Gokturk, the competition aimed to create dialogue and multicultural aspects amongst students and teachers.
