The principle governing the Republic of Rwanda is "government of the people, by the people and for the people.”

Therefore, if any business is to thrive in the current competitive business environment open to international investors, they should strive to use both French and English.

I am complaining because I have consistently received my bank statements in French. This is unfair for an Anglophone international businessperson like me who only speaks Kiswahili and English.

Why are ‘some’ commercial banks in the country still discrimating against the English speaking. We have to be more relevant in the current regional integration.

It is wrong for banks to insist on using only French during sensitive transactions like agreements and monthly statements.

I am complaining partly because I am aware that the national language is Kinyarwanda. But the official languages are Kinyarwanda, French and English.

Through your paper please let the Central Bank as the authority charged with supervising commercial banks, reign in on these banking institutions. If you do not, then you are making Rwanda not business friendly.
