THE first round of the national volleyball league comes to an end this weekend with the top four teams proceeding to the Play-offs battle.

Five matches are on card today with Kirehe facing College of Education and Group Scolaire de Butare in Kirehe; Christ Roi hosts UR Huye, St Joseph meets Umubano Blue Tigers before Rayon Sport plays St Joseph.

Seven matches will be played on Sunday where St Joseph will meet GSOB; Umubano Blue Tigers face Chrsit Roi and Petit Seminaire Virgo Fideris while College of Education will play Christ Roi, Rusumo High School and Ngororero.

Later in the evening, Christ Roi will face Petit Seminaire Virgo Fideris and Rusumo High School.

Leaders and third-placed APR and KVC will not be in action as they have honoured all their first round fixtures.

The military side APR leads the standings with 42 points in fourteen matches played this season. New league entrants Rayon Sports are placed second with 35 points while KVC stand third with 34 points, one point ahead of Inatek.

The play-offs are scheduled to start next week.
