A 14-man schools select team leaves this morning by road to Kampala, Uganda to take part in the traditional schools cricket tournament.

The gripping event for which Rwanda is making a debut appearance will run from August 16-23 attracting Uganda’s top cricket playing schools.

Seeing off the teams, Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) head Charles Haba told the boys that discipline will be a driving factor for them; he has also called upon the team to put up a tough fight in the tournament.

"While in Uganda, you are representing Rwanda, so keep our image good.” 

All rounder André Kayitera led the team that also includes Eric Dusingizimana, Eric Dusabemungu, Evode Mutuyimana, Desire Manarimbona, Joseph Tuyishimire, Jean Claude Siboniyo, Fiston Nsengiyumva, Audifax Byiringiro, Derrick Bayingana, Christian Mwijanda, Aviva Oofroriciri, Bob Bonga and Jean Paul Harindaintwari.
