Editor,
I THANK the author of this amazing book ("Inside the Hotel Rwanda,” by Edouard Kayihura – see "What really happened inside Hotel Rwanda?”, The New Times, May 13).
It sheds light on what really happened inside the Hôtel des Mille Collines during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and reveals the hidden character of Paul Rusesabagina.
It’s unbelievable how Hollywood can fabricate such a fictitious movie without fact checking and pass it along as a "true story”.
I’ve talked to as many people as possible and to those who have watched the movie, passed along a link to buy the book and learned the truth. But how many people will learn it compared to the millions who have seen Hotel Rwanda and think that Mr. Rusesabagina is a hero instead of what he really is? So sad!
