NORTHERN  PROVINCE

Gicumbi—Minister of Health Dr. Jean Damascean Ntawkuriryayo castigated ‘power hungry’ Byumba Health Institute administrators as being ‘enemies’ of Rwanda’s development agenda.

The attacks came during a visit by the minister to the Insitute this Thursday.

A long-standing power wrangle there has involved a cross section of administrators and other external forces, who have been struggling to topple the current director George Dada.

‘’Those who are dreaming of being Directors of this institute should wait until Dada is out,’’ Ntawkuriryayo said.

The minister thanked the Nigerian volunteers for their ‘tireless contributions’ to bring the institute to international standards.

Students and teachers were also asked to desist from examination cheating.

"Hrd work is expected from the sudents in order to attain quality education required in the competitive East African Community,’’ the minister said.

Those caught cheating would be held accountable for their actions.

The Director of the Institute George Dada thanked the minister and all of Northern Province for resolving the long-standing problem at the Institute.

Dada said it required ‘urgent’ support to run smoothly, including a school bus, library, and male and female hostels.
