The new sanction for the clearance of imports at the port of Mombassa in a fast 24 hours is a brilliant one.

The Kenyan president Mwai Kibaki who ordered this endorsement surely realized the slow pace at which business in the E.A.C was moving.

Most of all the cut down in the port clearance from 48 hours to 24 hours will no longer be a hindrance to millions of traders who have been stuck at the port in the good name of attaining what is already theirs.

In addition, the cut down in the number of roadblocks from the port to the Busia border will be of great advantage to transit truck transporters.

This will not only reduce the time spent on the roads, but will also cut down on corruption along the highway.

The police will no longer have any excuse to extradite money from the truck drivers who do not meet the required set of laws.    

Since Rwanda is now the head of the E. A. C, such a law is to her advantage. Rwanda should put more policies that foster better trade in the country.

This could ease the strain on its people’s high standard of living and make life much easier for the citizens. This new policy surely has a lot to benefit Rwanda.
