DEBUTANTS Indo-Pak CC started on a bad note losing their maiden match of the season against Telugu CC on Sunday in the on-going Computer Point T20 tournament.
Having lost the toss, the new comers had to bat first on a cloudy morning which posed a big threat to their batsmen as the ball was just skidding through.
"Nevertheless, even if the batting conditions were not favourable, I am glad my team scored over hundred runs,” said team captain Azhar Hussain.
A good batting partnership between Janvier Cyubahiro (30) and Basu Jyothi (35) produced 55 runs to give Telugu CC a win with 7 overs to spare.
In another match, Challengers scored 140 runs all out in 18 overs in their fixture against Kigali CC.
"Kigali CC’s choice of letting us bat first was ok for us and our batsmen were already prepared,” said Challenger’s skipper Vardhineni Srinath.
Subhasis Samal continued his form and put up a man of match performance to win their second game in group A. The most dependable Challenger CC’s player smashed 3 Sixes and 4 Fours on his way to 47 runs.
While bowling he took 1 wicket for 11 Runs in 4 overs. Kigali CC batsman Harish Patel’s brilliant knock of 36 Runs wasn’t enough to secure their first win in the tournament.
Good bowling of 4/08 from Mahebub Shaikh showed he is a class apart as he tormented Kigali CC batsmen.
Challengers now top group A with 4 points from 2 games; Victory CC are second with two points from one game while Impala Titans and Kigali CC are yet to win any point.
