I THANK Rwanda’s High Commissioner to India, Ernest Rwamucyo, for his informative article, "Reasons for Rwanda’s phenomenal rise from the ashes” (The New Times, May 9). 

We are very proud of what the country has achieved despite being described as "a failed nation” twenty years ago. 

The Bible says that "Without vision, people perish”.  

With the visionary leadership of President Paul Kagame, Rwanda has risen from the ashes to become as proud as a peacock. Every Rwandan has pulled his socks in the direction of the right vision – one of sustainable development – and we are proud of that.
