At least four local reggae bands will on Sunday pay tribute to legendary Jamaican reggae superstar Robert Nesta Marley, renowned worldwide as Bob Marley.

The four bands set to grace the stage for the event include Kwanda band, Holy Jah Doves band, Best Sound Band and Mystic Revelation Band.

The event, organised by Kwanda Art Digital, will be held at the Royal Car Wash entertainment spot, in Kimihurura.

In its 33rd anniversary, the concert will see Rwanda’s talented reggae artistes and Bob Marley's fans converge onstage under the theme: "Work hard to rebuild.”

Noel Nkubito, the Managing Director of Kwanda Art Digital, the company that owns Kwanda band, told The New Times, that this year’s concert has been well organised.

"As reggae musicians, we decided to come together in commemoration of our big brother.  This should be the starting point for musicians in this country especially those in love with raggae to promote this type of music,” Nkubito said.

The Jamaican singer, who died on May 11 1981, is well remembered for his music that preached peace, unity and love.

The concert will start at 2pm until 8pm. Entrance fee is Rwf1000 for children and Rwf2000 for adults.

After the concert, there will be a get together party at Meze Fresh Restaurant. It will start at 9pm.
