RIGHT GUARDS conquered Kerala Hunters in the third match of the on-going Computer Point T20 tournament over the weekend at Kicukiro grounds.

Right Guards had Derrick Bayingana to thank after he exhibited his brilliant knock of the season to help his club over come rivals Kerala Hunters.

Bayingana’s 65 runs off just 46 balls came in handy after Right Guards’s early collapse.

He took the team from 21/2 until he was bowled out by Sreenish K with only 8 runs to win. Derrick was named man of match.

"140/9 was a good score but we should have made more,” said Sagar Bhaskaran who was Kerala Hunter’s highest run getter with 59 runs.

He added, "Our batsmen got stuck and couldn’t do much against very good spin bowling from Right Guard spinners Clinton Rubagumya (2/07 in 4 overs) and Siboniyo Jean Claude (3/11 in 3 overs),”

In another match, Eric Niyomugabo’s five wickets helped Victory CC beat Kigali CC by 71 runs. The youngster’s variation of off spin and china man caused a disaster to Kigali CC batsmen.

Batting first, Victory CC got a defendable score of 179/4. Thanks to Ed Pearson (59) and Andrew Kayitera (43). Kazim Patel (42) was the only man standing for Kigali cricket club as they all didn’t show any resistance.

In the women’s league, Charity CC put on 44 runs all out, the lowest score scored by any women’s team in the domestic league.

"It was a bad day for us,” said the charity captain Uwase Claudine after her team got 7 ducks courtesy of Nyirandorimana Pacifique’s 3, Maina Mary’s 2 and Mukunzi Betty’s 2 wickets.

White Clouds chased down the score with only one wicket down.

Wins for Right Guards CC and Victory CC are a step forward towards qualification to the semi finals.

Telugu CC, Impala Titans CC, Kigali CC and Kerala Hunters CC will have to win all their remaining games to get a chance of qualifying.
