ISONGA AND SUNRISE football clubs edged closer to snatch places in next year’s top flight league after registering vital wins in the first leg of semi final stage in the second division league, played yesterday in Kigali.

Amini Salimu’s 48th minute goal was enough to grant Yves Rwasamanzi a win over experienced side SEC Academy at Ferwafa turf.

Elsewhere, Eastern Province giants Sunrise thrashed nine-man Bugesera 2-0 also to get closer to qualification.

The return legs are scheduled for May 10 where Bugesera will host Sunrise in Rwamagana as SEC academy faces Isonga at Kicukiro turf.
