The problem with the internet is that it suggests a lot of trends you should try out but it doesn’t come with a disclaimer notice that not everything will look as good as it does online.

You see your favourite actor on TV sporting a trend and you assume since you are the same height and size; you will do just as he does. Below are trends most of us are casualties of;
Unkempt hair
Once in a while actors like Denzel Washington will grace the screen for a role that requires long unkempt hair, like he did in Safe House and it will lead you to think that you can pull it off as well. Months after skipping the barber’s appointments, you will have an afro, but it won’t look even nearly as good as Denzel’s no matter how much treatment you put it under.
Denim and official shoes
If you are a rock fan, you have seen your favourite rock star in fitting jeans over leather shoes. It looks fancy I agree, but it may not look the same on you. Life isn’t always fair. The same look has been preferred by middle aged corporate men on dress down Fridays and over weekends, leading everyone in town to think they can pull it off, it is for a chosen few and height is one of the features you need to pull it off.
Official casual cross breed
There is a look that has components of official wear and casual that is mostly preferred by those with less stuck up professions like journalism or IT professionals. The wearer dons a dress shirt, official pants and trainers. Some have described it as artistic but it is not for everyone. You could easily end up looking like a misguided soul.
Coloured pants
Movies have a way of making us like the characters, they make us develop a soft spot for them and if we are not very careful, we adopt their styles and preferences. This is how grown men end up wearing red or yellow pants and see nothing wrong with it because Morgan Freeman was wearing the same.
Hats
Hats are frauds .They lie about the wearer’s real look and appearance and deceives everybody else that they will look as good if they don a similar hat. You watch a movie where the lead actor is turning heads with a Kangol hat and think that if you rocked one, the ladies in Kigali will sprain their necks looking at you, which mostly turns out to be the opposite.
