RAYON SPORTS Coach Luc Eymael is set to appeal against his two-year ban by Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa).

 Ferwafa handed a two-year ban and a fine of Rwf 200,000 against Eymael over his role in triggering the pandemonium which followed after the 1-all draw game against AS Kigali mid this month.

 "I am going to appeal against this decision because I can’t allow my career to be tarnished just anyhow. This decision taken by Ferwafa is unjust. There is no tangible evidence on which the decision was reached,” the Belgian tactician told Times Sport.

Eymael argues that the tribunal can’t basically incriminate a suspect without providing evidence.

"We urged Ferwafa to watch the video, which is the only evidence but they didn’t. I have never attempted to strangle the referee as they said. Why do you want me to be held responsible for the actions of the fans? I have to appeal against this and if nothing is done I am going to lodge a case in the court.  I hope Justice will prevail, "added Eymael.

Eymael was punished alongside Burundian impressive midfielder Cedric Amissi.  Amissi, who is accused of attacking match referee Gervais Munyanziza, has been suspended for six months and fined Rwf50, 000.

Rayon Sports Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya, who is reported to have mobilised fans and encouraged them to sing ‘anti-Degaule’ chants aimed at Ferwafa chairman Vincent Nzamwita, has been banned from stadiums for two years and handed a fine of Rwf500, 000.

While the head of Rayon Sports fans’ club Claude Muhawenimana, has also been hit with a two-year ban from football stadiums and fined Rwf500, 000.
