Afternoon

Indorwa 132/8 beat Teluga 118/10 by 14 runs

An all-round performance from Samal Subhasis ensured Challengers win their first game against Impala Titans CC in this year’s Computer Point Twenty20 league.

The Rwandan international all-rounder scored 56 runs and took two wickets in a game that could have gone either way.

After winning the toss, Impala captain Arsene Muganineza chose to ball first. Youngster Gatera Theogene did the most havoc to Challengers as he picked five wickets to restrict the defending champions to 137 runs all out in the allotted 20 overs.

Brian Masaba’s 70 runs brought Impala Titans so close yet so far as his teammates batted poorly. ITCC lost by 13 runs. Gatera Theogene was named man of match.

In the afternoon game, Telugu CC, the finalists in last year’s tournament, lost to Indorwa CC by 14 runs. Vinit Chauhan’s 41 runs and 1 wicket earned him the man of match award.

Don Mugisha’s 4 wickets for 26 runs gave some resistance but Indorwa passed the mark with 2 wickets to spare.
