A ONE-DAY Tour des Volcans is on today under the auspices of Rwanda Cycling Federation (Ferwacy) and Benediction Cycling Club. 

Riders will start the tour from Rubavu and climax in Musanze. All Ferwacy clubs are expected to compete in the tour which is aimed at keeping riders in competitive shape. 

The top ten riders will share Rwf 200,000 cash prize. 

Ferwacy permanent secretary Emanuel Murenzi yesterday said that "this is to evaluate the level of our riders. We believe it is an important tour for our riders in as far as keeping them in competition mood is concerned,” 

"Such competitions will help the federation to spot more young talented riders to beef up the national team,” he noted. 

The  clubs expected to take part include; Benediction Club, Les Amis Sportifs, CCA, Kiramuruzi Cycling Team, Cine Elmay, Rapide Entertainment Club and Fly Club.
