KCB donates goats to Nyamata Genocide survivors

KCB Rwanda on Friday paid tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi with a donation of 20 goats to some survivors in Nyamata and Rwf 1million for maintenance of the memorial site in Bugesera District.

KCB Rwanda on Friday paid tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi with a donation of 20 goats to some survivors in Nyamata and Rwf 1million for maintenance of the memorial site in Bugesera District.

The staff of the bank also took part in walk-to-remember from Nyamata sector offices to the memorial where they placed a wreath of a mass grave containing remains 40,000 victims.

"We should not only work to make our lives better but also the community, because peace is our strength,” said George Odhiambo, the head of business and client services.

He called upon the community to embrace unity through forgiveness and reconciliation "so that together we grow as a family in this beautiful country.”

He promised continued support from bank to needy members in the communities country-wide.

Jacques Gashumba the executive secretary for Nyamata sector said the goats would enable recipients fight poverty through improved incomes.
