Bruce Melody has started his own band. This comes shortly after the singer launched his debut album entitled- Ndumiwe to a mammoth crowd at Kigali Serena Hotel on March 8.
Bruce is among a few young musicians in the country who have settled for live music. The singer said that the band would be composed of 30 members, and he encourages people with good vocals to register.
"After realising that most musicians today do playback music, I decided to form this band that would help potential artistes build confidence to perform live music. It’s not about the money that we get from the performances, but what we give to our fans. They need something real and something unique,” said Melody.
"We’re recruiting people who would like to join the band. We need people who can play music instruments and those who can sing.”
He added that; "In addition, the band will help me push my music to the next level.”
Born Bruce Itahiwaco, the "Nashima” star has also started a campaign to reach out to the needy in the different parts of the country. The programme is set to kick off in May, before the launch of his band in June.
The 24-year-old singer rose to fame in 2010 after the release of singles Tubivemo and Telephone, and since then he has never slowed down.
