Playing for classification 9-16 positions, Viateur Sibomana’s side defeated Ugandan team’s Nkumba University 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21 and Ndejje University 3-2 (35-17, 25-19, 11-25, 17-25 and 15-12). In their last game in tournament, APR will face Chlef today and a win will take them to ninth position. The Algerian side beat APR 3-0 (25-23, 25-12, 25-10) in the group stage. Also today, hosts Carthage faces GS Petroliers of Algeria in the first semi-final and the second semi-final game will be between Kenyan rivals Prisons and Pipeline. The winner of the African title will however be forced to go through a qualification play off against other teams as qualifier for the World Club Championships to be held in Zurich later this year. In group stage, on the first day on Saturday, APR lost to Kenyan champions, Pipeline 3-0 (25-12, 25-16 name 25-17). On Sunday, they were beaten by FAP from Cameroon 3-2 (21-25, 28-26, 22-25, 26-24 and 15-13).
