A delegation of over 20 French citizens grouped under RBF-France-Forum de la Memoire  (Remembrance Forum) yesterday paid tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at Kigali memorial centre, Gisozi.

The team included Senator Alain Fauconnier, Sonia Rolland, former Miss France 2000, Rachel Khan, an actress, and Gael Faye a Rwandan-French rapper among others. 

"We are here to show our solidarity with Rwandans because we share a common history,” said David Khalfa, the president RBF-France.

He added that human beings live in a global village where we need to help each other instead of focusing on politics.  

"Never again should not be a mere rhetoric. It must be seen to be done,” he said.

Khalfa added that nobody should let evils like genocide ever happen again anywhere in the world. The group committed to work closely with the Rwandan Civil Society to help unite and renew the nation.  

 Civil society organisations and survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi living in France last week accused the French government of politicising the commemoration of the Genocide by canceling two major remembrance events and boycotting others.
