RWANDA’S professional golfer Emmanuel Ruterana finished joint second in this year’s edition of the Kigezi Easter Golf Open held in Kabale, Uganda on Sunday.

The four-time Rwanda Open winner was making his first major international appearance since the start of the year.

The Kigali golf club player returned with a score of 154 after carding 74 and 74 over the two days at the Par 69 Kigezi golf course.

Ruterana shared second place with the Ugandan pair of Dennis Anguya and Vincent Byamukama, who also finished the two-day tournament with total scores of 154.

Opio Onito won the tournament with a score of 139 after making 66 and 73 over the two days.

"It’s not a bad result to finish second in this tournament after a long spell without taking part in any major competition. The course was perfect and my game was flowing, and I hope this performance can inspire me for the rest of the year,” Ruterana told Times Sport yesterday.
