Is worship leader Christian Irimbere finally coming of age?
Thursday, September 07, 2023
Christian Irimbere started singing in church at a very young age but embarked on a solo music career in 2016.

He has performed in a number of gospel concerts in Kigali in addition to being a vocalist at Restoration Church in Masoro, but Christian Irimbere had never really taken big steps like organising his own concert.

The past couple of years saw him make a couple of new songs to complement his 2020 hit "Ndi Hano.” With his same great vocal abilities and fervency that characterises a worship leader, Irimbere currently has multiple tracks to his name, some of which have gained substantial popularity in gospel circles in the country.

Having reached such a level, he says the timing is right for him to go for bigger things including organising his own concerts.

"I have been doing gospel music for quite some time now. I have waited for the right time to do my own concert because I knew I had to wait for God's confirmation and conviction,” he told The New Times.

Irimbere started singing in church at a very young age but embarked on a solo music career in 2016. Starting out, he says he did not expect to reach where he has reached today.

"I was just a very passionate young man doing what I love and the Lord opened doors for me in so many unexpected ways,” he says.

Though he says that he believes big things are coming his way, he notes that his main target is sharing the gospel with the world.

"This is the mission of every Christian,” he told The New Times.

"I believe I will get the gospel as far as possible, in every corner of the world,” he added.

His first concert will take place at Christian Life Assembly in Nyarutarama, Kigali on Sunday, September 9. He will be joined by fellow gospel artistes including Arsene Tuyi, Alexis Dusabe, and Christophe Ndayishimiye.

"The purpose of the concert is to gather and praise and worship with fellow Christians. If by God's grace anyone will be healed, restored and receives Christ, that is the most important purpose of this concert,” he said.
