After beating KCB and 30-Plus, Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre (IPRC) Kigali have now set their sights on a top four finish in the ongoing national hoops championship.
Newly formed IPRC stunned last year’s first runners-up KBC 64-51 on Friday evening at Amahoro indoor stadium before winning 42-31 against 30-Plus at Kimisagara youth sports centre court on Saturday.
Steve Havugintwari, Jean Paul Ndoli and Abdallahtif Nsengiyumva were the driving forces for the new league entrants IPRC in both games.
"This is our maiden season in the league but we are not fazed by the challenge, we’re enjoying the competition, and I believe we are on track to achieve our set object of finishing in the top four,” IPRC head coach Albert Buhake told Times Sport.
The former CSK coach added: "Finishing among the top sides means playing play-offs and that’s our target this season.”
IPRC have won five and lost five of their ten matches played at the halfway stage of the regular season.
They have already beaten Gisenyi BBC, KIE, NUR, 30-Plus and KBC but lost to reigning champions Espoir, Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK), APR, Rusizi and United Generation (UGB).
With a game in hand, Espoir lead the league with 20 points, three ahead of CSK, APR are third with 16 points, level with UGB, while IPRC Kicukiro came in fifth place with 15 points.
