RWANDA National Team U18 (boys & girls) have kicked off intensive preparations at Amahoro Indoor Stadium ahead of the Fiba Africa Zone V U-18 Championships title.

The teams under the tutelage of Cyril Kalima (boys) and Charles Mbazumutima (girls) will represent Rwanda at the regional tournament set to be held in Kampala, Uganda from May 10th to 15th.

"The national teams are up to the task of performing well in the tournament. We have an excellent boy’s team and our target is to transform them into winners ahead of the tournament,” Kalima told Times Sport yesterday, before adding, "We are all focused on winning the Kampala and the African main tournaments,” added Kalima.

Winners of the regional tournament will earn automatic qualification to compete at the men’s Afro-basket U-18 tournament in Madagascar while the women junior tournament will be held in Mali later this year.
