RWANDA Cricket Association [RCA] will organise a T20 match on April 20 as part of Kwibuka 20 commemoration events for the victims of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi.
According to RCA officials, the match will be played between the National men’s team that has just returned from South Africa and a select XI at Kicukiro cricket ground. The winning team will walk away with Rwf 60,000 courtesy of the Naidu family.
The tournament is in line with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Sports and Culture urging all national sports federations to organise events to remember the sportsmen and women, who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
As part of the event, the cricket fraternity will visit Ntarama Memorial Centre in May and also plan to help Genocide Survivors.
