This letter is addressed to all children, women and men of Rwanda during the ongoing 20th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi.

To all Rwandans,

My thoughts and prayers are with you during the commemoration and your journey towards reconciliation.

Rwanda seems to be a remarkable country. After being destroyed by genocide so cruel and unimaginable, it takes strength to be able to recover that much you have done.

The prospects for your country of a thousand smiles I think are still bright, both when it comes to reconciliation and healing the wounds, and to the tremendous socio-economic development – but especially because you are with God. He is faithful and will always reward those who put trust in Him.
