The first ever National Schools directory was yesterday launched. Published by Martin Ruzindana, the directory contains detailed information about primary and secondary schools as well as institutions of higher learning across the country.
Ruzindana who published the directory through the National Schools’ Directory Ltd says it avails current information on courses offered by private and public schools and institutions, their telephone contacts and emails among others.
"I realised it was very important to give the public information concerning schools as this will solve the problem most parents face in searching for good schools to take their children for quality education,” said Ruzindana.
He noted that the directory which will have the first 4,000 copies distributed free of charge will also help visitors from other countries coming to either stay or work in the country with their families easily find schools for their children.
Ruzindana said he started working on the directory late last year.
For parents in need of international schools in the country, the directory also profiles such schools.
These schools offer the international syllabus from pre-primary up to university level; and that this helps parents avoid incurring a lot in taking their children to other countries for such schools.
"I am convinced that this book will also attract students from various parts of the World and prosperous investors in the education sector hence contributing to economic growth and improving education standards in the long-run,” he said.
