The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) stands with Rwanda in the country’s continued pledge to ‘Remember, Unite and Renew’ as it commemorates the 20th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, it has said.
In a statement, Dr Donald Kaberuka, the AfDB president, noted that Rwanda and its people cannot erase the pains of the past. He added that the country is a living proof of transformative power and energy.
"For 20 years, Rwandans have overcome several challenges. The African Development Bank has been and remains its valued partner.”
Kaberuka, formerly Rwanda’s finance minister, was among the dignitaries who attended the main Genocide anniversary event in Kigali yesterday.
