Tribute to the people of Rwanda

Editor, With the 20th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi taking place around the world, including here in Winnipeg, it is a time to reflect on what we’ve learned since those dark days in 1994. Has the world really learned anything? I truly hope so.

Editor,

With the 20th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi taking place around the world, including here in Winnipeg, it is a time to reflect on what we’ve learned since those dark days in 1994. Has the world really learned anything? I truly hope so.

Today’s Rwanda is the ultimate example of what can be accomplished with great leadership, determination, and hard work. Rwandans have lifted their country out of the abyss with grace, resilience and dignity. You should all be very proud of your accomplishments over the past 20 years. I salute you...
