RWANDA CRICKET Association has received equipment worth Rwf5m from UK-based non-profit organization LV-SOS Kit Aid, to help in the development of the sport. 

LV-SOS Kit Aid is a UK charity that collects and recycles sports kit for the benefit of young people in the UK and overseas. 

The RCA general manager Joshua Mwanja said, "We got this aid through Cricket without Boundaries (CWB) who contacted the LVSOS to support our youth development programs.” 

"We are happy to partner with the RCA in promoting and developing cricket in Rwanda,” said John Broadfoot, the CEO of LV-SOS Kit Aid before adding,

"We deliver kit all over the world to disadvantaged children so that they might be able to play sport and change their lives.” 

The equipment includes 48 batting pads, 24 helmets, 50 batting gloves and 45 pairs of cricket shoes. 

The consignment to RCA will be distributed amongst secondary schools that are preparing for the Girls and Boys cricket week in August 2014.
