DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Gicumbi will face-off with former champions APR on Sunday in the national handball league match at Kimisagara youth sports center courts.
This year’s local championship kicked-off last Sunday and it includes nine participants namely; Gicumbi, APR, Police, Nyakabanda, University of Rwanda- College of Education (former KIE), and Huye-based College of Arts and Social Sciences (formerly NUR).
Others are secondary schools’ teams namely: ES Kigoma, Saint Aloys Rwamagana, GS Rambura.
2013 Labor Day Cup winners APR started with a 34-20 win over KIE, Gicumbi are playing their first match of the season. Their would-be season opener against GS Rambura was postponed.
In today’s action, Nyamirambo-based Nyakabanda, who lost 35-27 to Saint Aloys Rwamagana last Sunday, face 2012 champions Police at Kimisagara youth sports center, while College of Arts and Social Sciences take on their counterparts of UR-College of Education in Huye.
