ESPOIR Football Club management has handed their head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha (pictured) a two-match ban after losing three consecutive games.

According to Espoir president Godefroid Kamuzinzi, the club management commissioned an investigation into the circumstances of the defeats to Amagaju, Muhanga and Esperance. 

"He has been suspended for two games as we investigate why the team lost three games in a row which we believe we were supposed to win, this is a serious issue,” Kamuzinzi told Times Sport.

He added: "We need to know what is going on in our team; we have lost to teams that are fighting at the bottom of the table. The management is not happy with those results since they (defeats) came at a time when the team was performing really well against big teams.”

When contacted, Ruremesha confirmed the ban but refused to give further comments.

Espoir lost to Amagaju 2-0, Esperance 2-1, and at home against AS Muhanga 1-0. 

As a result, Ruremesha, whose team at one stage even dreamt of a top four finish, will miss a home game against Gicumbi this weekend and the Peace Cup round of 1/8 clash against the same side. In his absence, his assistant, Gervais Manirakiza will be in charge.

Espoir have won nine, drawn eight and lost five of their 22 matches this season and are in seventh position with 35 points.
