Police football club left back Innocent Habyarimana will not get his match-winning bonus of Rwf50, 000 as punishment for punching an opponent at the end of the league match against Kiyovu on Sunday, the club said.

Habyarimana was shown a straight red card by referee Edward Bahizi at the end of the match for the incident involving SC Kiyovu striker Ali Musa Sova.

The Cops won 2-0.

The two players were involved in a heated banter at the final whistle which resulted in the Police star punching Sova as the teams walked off the field at the Kigali regional stadium.

Habyarimama will miss Police’s next three matches, starting with a visit to Nyamagabe for the Amagaju match on Saturday, then Espoir (April 20) and AS Muhanga (April 26).

Consequently, Police FC have punished him by withdrawing the winning bonus for that game, according to the club Spokesperson Jean de Dieu Mayira.

The victory helped Sam Ssimbwa’s team to climb to third position with 41 points.
