Full of passion, students struggled to assemble materials together. Confidently, they took their parents and fellow students through various science concepts and projects. Such was the bee hive of activity in the recently concluded science fair organised by Green Hills Secondary School.

The science fair competition involved students from different classes as they showcased how to make plastics, starch, powdered milk, an artificial incubator and purification of water, among others.
Jean Safari, the coordinator of Science Fair at Green Hill’s, said the project was started at the time students were shunning science subjects in big numbers.
"Science fairs were started to demystify science and enable students understand and learn better,” he said.
The Green Hills Science fair is a programme that was established in 2012, to compliment the school’s efforts in the prioritisation policy of science education in a bid to improve the quality of teaching and learning of science subjects.
