NEW VOLLEYBALL league entrants Umubano Blue Tigers have vowed to give a platform for the upcoming youth players to improve their talents. 

Head coach Elie Mutabazi told this paper that they want to promote young players as part of the club’s mission of developing the sport in country. 

"Our aim is to give a chance to young players. We need them to play many matches since it will help them in securing the club’s future and that of the volleyball sport in the country.” 

"Our objective is to develop these young players by giving them enough time to acquire experience and exposure,” the former APR setter said.

Umubano Blue Tigers are in eighth position on the 15-team log with nine points, 21 points behind leaders APR with five matches played so far. 

UBT was first established in 1999 but pulled out of the league in 2009 due to financial constraints only to make a comeback this year. 

Key players such as Pierre Marshal Kwizera, Vincent Dusabimana, Caesar Rubayita, Benjamin Kangabo, Emile Karera Dada, and Charles Habonimana are among the players who were nurtured at UBT.
