The five-time reigning champions registered the biggest win of the season by any team, thanks to five goals by Marie Jeanne Nyirahashimana, Shadia Uwamahirwe with four, Anne Marie Ibangarye with three and Saide Ntagisanimana, Marie Claire Uwamahoro and Sophia Niyomugabo each netting one apiece.
AS Kigali lead Pool A with 21 points from seven matches played. They still have three matches to play against ESIR, Don Bosco Gatenga and Rambura before the pool stages end. Rambura are second with 19 points, while ESIR come third with 17.
"The victory was important to us, we are looking forward to retaining the title and so far so good, we are on the right path to achieve the milestone,” noted AS Kigali coach Grace Nyinawumuntu, who also doubles as the She-Amavubi head coach.
In Pool B, leaders Inyemera were held to a goalless draw by Kamonyi, Bugesera beat Girls Academy 4-0, while Les Lionnes walloped Atletico of Huye 3-0.
Inyemera stand top of Pool B with 24 points, Kamonyi second with 22, while The Winners come third with 20.
