Rayon Sports coach Luc Eymael has warned his team not to take anything for granted despite enjoying a 3-0 success over Etincelles on Sunday to stay top of the table.

The Belgian admitted that the win was another remarkable step towards Rayon retaining the title. Rayon Sports have 52 points, level with second-placed APR but the former have a superior goal difference with four rounds of matches remaining.

"This is one of the best wins we have had since I came here, but we don’t want to lose focus. We have to stay calm and focused until the end of the season. We are happy to be on top. But we can’t start celebrating now because nothing has been won yet,” Eymael told Times Sport.

Rayon Sports’ 17th win of the season in 22 matches was orchestrated by Burundian international midfielder cum striker Cedric Amissi, who netted his tenth and eleventh goals of season. Robert Ndatimana netted the other goal.

Eymael said he is looking forward for the next game.

"We have to be focused on the next game. We cannot take things for granted against any team, and now we have to study our next opponents and try to get a good result,” Eymael noted before adding, "We played very well against a determined team, but we dominated from the start to end and I am happy with the players’ effort and determination.”

Between now and May 3, the top two must avoid dropping points in the remaining four fixtures because any slight slip-up for either side, would hand the title to their rivals.

Defending champions Rayon Sports will face Marines on April 5 in Rubavu; AS Kigali on April 20 at Amahoro stadium and Esperance on April 26 at Kigali regional stadium before winding up the season against Musanze on May 3 at Amahoro stadium.

Meanwhile, APR faces SC Kiyovu on April 5 at Kigali regional stadium; Amagaju on April 20 at Kigali regional stadium; Espoir in Rusizi on April 26 and AS Muhanga in Kicukiro on May 3.

APR head coach, Vincent Mashami told reporters that they will continue to take game by game and see where they will finish.

"We will take game by game because it is very tricky. We don’t want to make any mistake because we know how it can cost us,” the former Isonga coach said.

Amagaju and Esperance remain locked in the relegation zone with 13 and 12 points respectively.
