RWANDA men’s cricket team posted mixed results in the opening day of the ICC Africa Division 3 tournament which started yesterday at Sahara Willowmoore Park in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In the first game, the national team beat Gambia by one run with team captain Eric Dusabemungu Hirwa being the MVP with 25.45 points.
They lost the second game to Sierra Leone by four wickets. Action continues today with Rwanda facing Swaziland and Gambia again.
Rwanda is aspiring to return back to Division 2 and they will have to win their remaining matches so as to achieve their target.
The team left country on Thursday ahead of the four-day tournament, which started on Saturday and will end on Tuesday.
