NYANZA— The Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA) has embarked on a health plan to train youth in handling trauma cases in Rwabicuma Sector, Nyanza District.

Foustine Vuningoma, the senior coordinator of the project dubbed outdoor adventure therapy, said they target about 240 youths.

About 76 youth have already received the training.
"Fourteen years after the genocide, many young men and women are still almost helpless and among them a big number is traumatized including other age groups in their communities. So we want these youth to be able to handle their community problems,” Vuningoma said.

Apart from trauma handling, the youth will also be equipped with other skills like conflict resolution, according to Vuningoma.

He observed that the youth need spiritual development and psychological healing in order to become better future leaders.
