The IndependenT Institute of Lay Adventists of Kigali held their 6th graduation ceremony on the 18th of March 2014 that saw a total of 801 students graduate in different discplines. According to Dr. Jean Ngamije the rector of the institute, the number of female students was higher than that of males, an indicator of women empowerment."Out of the 801 graduates today, 443 are females higher than the males who are only 358,” he said. Ngamije commended the government and other stakeholders for their unwavering support in helping INILAK to achieve its goals and called on the graduands to have integrity and be good ambassadors of the school.

"Put into use the knowledge you have acquired here to create change not only in your households but in  the society and the nation at large,” he counseled.

Nuhaya Ntwali INILAK’s legal representative said, the university is committed to giving quality education to all Rwandans, a motive that has translated into the introduction of Masters program. He noted that in the past six years the numbers of women that have graduated from the school are higher than that of boys. "Since this university started, we have graduated over 5,953 students with women having the highest percentage which is at53.4% (3358) 53.4 percent compared to that of men at 43.6% (2595). Peter Nkubara, the Chairman Board of Directors INILAK said the University is on the right course 0f achieving its goals and has registered several achievements since inception. "In abid to bring our services closer to the people we have opened up branches in Nyanza and Rwamagana districts and have also introduced a masters program.
